Kanye West resumes tour in Chicago
Kanye West resumed his tour in Chicago, Illinois on Friday (07Oct16) after postponing two shows following his wife Kim Kardashian's armed robbery in Paris.
Reality star Kim was bound and gagged by a gang of five masked men carrying guns as they stormed her apartment in France, early last Monday (03Oct16), before making off with a cell phone and millions in jewelry.
Kanye had been onstage at a festival in Queens, New York when he
learned of the attack, and cut short his show, citing a "family
emergency." The news of Kim's robbery hit headlines hours
later.
Kim immediately returned to the U.S., where she reunited with her
husband at their apartment in Manhattan.
Kanye opted to remain by Kim's side as she recovered from the
horrific ordeal, and rescheduled his Saint Pablo Tour gigs in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Detroit, Michigan, pushing the shows
back to December (16).
However, after Kim headed back to their home base in Los Angeles,
Kanye went back to work and returned to the stage in his native
Chicago on Friday night.
The usually-outspoken Stronger hitmaker made no mention of the
robbery at the concert, but did tell the crowd, "It's good to be
home," as he kicked off the 90-minute show.
Police in France are still investigating the incident, and have yet
to name any suspects or make any arrests.
