Kanye West: 'New Balmain collection is inspired by Kim'

Kanye West is convinced his wife Kim Kardashian was the inspiration behind Balmain's new Autumn/Winter 2016 collection.

The outspoken rapper and fashion aficionado was front row for Thursday's (03Mar16) Paris Fashion Week show, which he attended with his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner.

Kim's sister, Kendall Jenner, was among the models to strut their stuff on the runway, and she turned heads by stepping out with her typically dark hair bleached platinum blonde.

She wasn't the only one switching up her style; all the models in the Balmain unveiling showed off new hair colors, including Jourdan Dunn, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Joan Smalls, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Kendall's pal Gigi Hadid, who traded in her blonde locks to be a brunette for the day.

Kanye, who is close friends with Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, watched the show beside his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, who cheered on Kendall as she showed off the label's latest designs.

Kim was not in attendance, but Kanye, who donned a pearl-encrusted bomber jacket, made sure her presence was felt as he addressed the Paris Fashion Week media.

"She's the source, the whole collection is based on Kim!" he told show photographers.

Olivier has yet to comment on Kanye's claims, but he has a long history with the couple, and previously admitted Kim was one of his muses.

"I choose muses that are actually really different and modern - I chose them because they are contemporary, they are part of this new world," he told CNN Style last year (15). "For example, Kim Kardashian. She's my friend, she's a woman that I love for different reasons."

He also picked the superstar couple to star in Balmain's spring/summer 2015 men's campaign, and was in attendance at Madison Square Garden in New York City last month (Feb16) when Kanye premiered his album, The Life of Pablo, and his new Yeezy Season 3 collection for Adidas as part of New York Fashion Week.
