Kanye West hits out at the press during Bonnaroo comeback show
Rapper Kanye West lashed out at the media on Friday night (13Jun14) as he returned to Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, six years after he was booed on the same stage.
The Stronger hitmaker came under fire in 2008 when he appeared six hours late for his headlining set at the Manchester, Tennessee event, prompting fans to boo him throughout the disastrous show.
He blamed the delay on rockers Pearl Jam for playing an extended
set and eating into his stage set-up time prior to his performance,
and it appears West has yet to let the incident go after making
reference to the six-year-old event during his gig on Friday.
He also accused the media of inaccurately reporting the reasons for
his late show, repeatedly shouting, "Where the press at (sic)? F**k
the press."
The hip-hop star went on to rant and declared himself the biggest
rock star on the planet as he thanked fans for their support,
saying, "I want y'all (you all) to know that anytime I'm in the
studio, make a record, make a T-shirt, I give it everything I got.
And when I talk that s**t, it's so you can talk that s**t. If
you're a fan of me, you're a fan of your motherf**king self. You
can go out and do anything... I am the number one motherf**king
rock star on the planet, at Bonnaroo!"
