Kanye West celebrates birthday with private, star-studded basketball session at Staples Center
Kanye West was treated to a birthday to remember on Monday (08Jun15) after wife Kim Kardashian recruited his pals John Legend, Justin Bieber and Pusha T to take part in a private game of basketball with the rap superstar at Los Angeles' Staples Center.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians beauty reportedly spent $110,000 to hire out the arena, the home of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers, and called on West's friends to surprise him as he turned 38.
Other guests invited to play ball included rapper Tyga and NBA
stars Russell Westbrook and John Wall, while 2 Chainz and Houston
Rockets shooting guard James Harden served as team coaches,
according to TMZ.com.
Legend even performed the U.S. National Anthem for the group before
they faced off on the court, while Kardashian had sports aces Kobe
Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Earvin 'Magic' Johnson, Scottie Pippen
and Carmelo Anthony record video messages to mark West's
birthday.
