Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting's Walk of Fame star near late TV dad's

Actress Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting's dream came true when she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame near her late 8 Simple Rules co-star John Ritter.

The Big Bang Theory actress unveiled her star on Los Angeles' fabled sidewalk on Wednesday (29Oct14), and she was delighted to see that her request to have the marker placed near her former TV dad Ritter was honoured.

Following the ceremony, Cuoco-Sweeting told Entertainment Tonight, "They (organisers) asked if I had a preference and I said, 'Wow, if I had any dream it would be near John Ritter's'. I'm going to go find it after this and give it a big kiss."

8 Simple Rules was Cuoco-Sweeting's big break on television, and the actress noted Ritter was "adorable" and "one of my favourite people".

Following his death from an undiagnosed aortic dissection in 2003, he was written out of the TV series, but studio bosses cancelled the series one season later due to low ratings.
