Justin Bieber adds social media nods to Teen Choice Awards nominations

Justin Bieber has picked up an additional trio of nods for the 2015 Teen Choice Awards in the third and final wave of nominations.


The pop superstar makes the shortlist for Social Media King, Choice Twit and Choice Instagrammer, taking his total haul to eight as he is also up for the likes of Choice Summer Music Star: Male, Choice Male Hottie, and Choice Music Single: Male Artist for his Jack U collaboration, Where Are U Now.


Bieber will face competition from stars including Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake for the Social Media King crown, while Taylor Swift will battle for Social Media Queen against pop rival Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus and Caitlyn Jenner.


Swift's Twitter activity has also landed her a mention alongside Bieber for Choice Twit, where contenders are Perry, Shakira, Timberlake and Lady Gaga, while the Baby hitmaker will go up against Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande and his ex-girlfriend Gomez for Choice Instagrammer.


Meanwhile, Gina Rodriguez had double the reason to celebrate on Thursday (30Jul15) as she was named co-host of the 2015 Teen Choice Awards on her 31st birthday.


The Jane the Virgin beauty will join forces with rapper/actor Ludacris and Drake & Josh star Josh Peck as the main hosts of the annual ceremony, which will take place in Los Angeles on 16 August (15).


Rodriguez will double up as presenter and nominee, as she faces off for the Choice TV Actress: Comedy prize with the likes of Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting for The Big Bang Theory and Lea Michele for Glee, while Ludacris will also be hoping for a win in the Choice Movie: Chemistry category, for which he is shortlisted alongside his Furious 7 co-stars.
