Josh Hutcherson regrets buying a car online
Josh Hutcherson regrets buying his dream car online as his prized possession broke down when he drove it for the first time.
The motoring enthusiast actor had been desperate to own a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro since he was was a little boy, and after he signed on for The Hunger Games, he finally decided it was time to purchase the classic car.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Tuesday
(10Apr12), he said, "So I started my hunt and looked all over the
internet to find the perfect one. Finally I found this one in
Illinois... it was pristine, perfect... so I have a guy look at it
and he says it's all good, excellent condition..."
However, his joy turned to despair when the car broke down during
his first drive: "I get on the freeway, top down, loving life
cruising in the wind. I thought I was the coolest guy that ever
existed. and then a mile from my exit off the freeway my engine
light come on... White smoke from the engine. The car dies. I'm
sitting there so dejected. I've wanted this car all my life, now it
doesn't work..."
Luckily a mechanic fixed the problem for him, but Josh Hutcherson
had to have the car towed a further five times within a week -
prompting him to trade it in for another vintage automobile.
He later ditched that vehicle too after he discovered it "is the
most deadly car ever made. More people have died driving that car
in ratio to any other car".
