Joseph Gordon-Levitt earns first Emmy Award

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has won his first Emmy Award thanks to his program HitRecord On TV.

The Inception actor is the creator, director and star of the variety show, which is based on his open-collaborative production company, HitRecord.

On Saturday (16Aug14), Gordon-Levitt and his team received the Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media for Social TV Experience at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards prizegiving.

Last year (13), winners at the Creative Arts ceremony were only given a 45-second time limit for their acceptance speech, so Gordon-Levitt took to YouTube.com to post a two-minute video thanking everyone who had a part in earning the coveted trophy.

He said, "This is an abnormal show, so to have an established institution like the Emmys recognize us, it really means a lot."

HitRecord on TV, which features the work of artists all over the world who submit their short films, live performances, cartoons and more, debuted earlier this year (14) and has already been renewed for a second season.
