John Mayer encourages ex-girlfriends to write songs about him

Singer John Mayer has encouraged his former lovers to write songs about him, after his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry revealed plans to pen a tune about him on her next album.

As well as Perry, the Daughters hitmaker has romanced singers Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift, who reportedly wrote the 2010 song, Dear John, about their failed relationship, and now he's bracing for the Roar star's lyrics after she told the upcoming July (14) issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, "There's no bad blood, but I'm sure there will be inspired songs."

When asked by TMZ.com what he thinks about Perry's songwriting plans, Mayer insists he isn't afraid for the world to hear what she has to say about him.

He insists, "I have super strength for gang-ups, I'm fine. That's what you’re supposed to do, man, you're supposed to write songs. You're just not supposed to tell everybody you’re doing it."
