Joe Jonas on drug addiction rumours: 'It's ridiculous'
Joe Jonas has called rumours of his alleged drug addiction "ridiculous", denying his speculated troubles were the reason for the Jonas Brothers' recent split.
The Burning Up hitmakers confirmed their decision to disband on Tuesday (29Oct13), after a scrapped tour and a "deep rift" between the three brothers ultimately led to the demise of the group.
And shortly after the band announced its axed tour, speculation
swirled that Joe was headed for rehab - when he was frequently seen
with addiction specialist Mike Bayar, who was one of the driving
forces behind Demi Lovato's recovery.
However the 24 year old tells People magazine that not only is talk
of a drug problem not true, but it was certainly not a reason for
the siblings to end their career.
He exclaims, "It's ridiculous! We're not saying anything for two or
three weeks and I'm a drug addict!"
Joe found it even more troublesome when his model girlfriend,
Blanda Eggenschwiler, was also blamed for his reported
addiction.
He adds, "It's obviously not true. I've never touched heroin in my
life. Neither has my girlfriend. It's hilarious to me, but also
frustrating as well. It p**sed me off when it's about my
girl...
"I was walking down the street and people are asking me if they can
give me a hug and how rehab is. I'm like, you tell me because I've
never been."
