Jill Scott joins Usher on The Voice

Soul star Jill Scott will join Usher as a mentor on the upcoming season of TV talent show The Voice.

The He Loves Me singer will help Usher coach his team of hopefuls during season six of the hit series.

The Yeah! hitmaker, who rejoins the judging panel with Shakira, admits he's thrilled to land such a talent.

He tells news show Extra, "That's my secret weapon. Incredible, as a writer, as a musician, as an actress; all those elements really help to prepare artists."

And Scott didn't hesitate to sign up for the show, adding, "When Usher calls, you take the call."

The new season of The Voice begins on 24 February (14).
