Jessie to make Disney history with TV engagement

Hit kids show Jessie is set to make TV history later this year (14) with the Disney Channel's first engagement.

Debby Ryan's titular heroine will accept boyfriend Brooks' (Pierson Fode) proposal in an episode that will air in the autumn and make Jessie the first Disney TV character to get engaged in front of cameras.

Ryan is hoping the big event will help her young fans understand the importance of marriage, stating, "It's not about the dress, it's not about the wedding. It's about the marriage. That's something we lose sight of when we're so young and all we want to do is dress up and play fairytale."
