Jessie James Decker worried about 'depressed' husband

Country star Jessie James Decker fears for her footballer husband Eric Decker's mental wellbeing after revealing he is seriously "depressed" by his New York Jets team's dismal performance.

The wide receiver signed a big money deal to move from the Denver Broncos to the East Coast over the summer (14), but his relocation hasn't gone as well as hoped and the Jets have struggled so far this season.

His singer wife James Decker has now opened up about the emotional toll the poor record has taken on the sportsman in a pre-recorded radio interview for the Big Apple's The Todd Show, which airs on Tuesday (02Dec14).

In the chat, obtained by TMZ.com, she explains, "It's been a really hard season. He's been, I don't wanna say depressed, but he's been depressed."

Appearing to place the blame on Decker's teammates, she adds, "(He is) not able to really show his ability right now and he's got a lot of doubters and that hurts him... It's rough."

The Jets racked up their 10th loss of the season on Monday night (01Dec14), when they failed to beat the Miami Dolphins at home in New Jersey's MetLife Stadium. The game ended 13-16, taking their record to 2-10.
