Jessica Simpson's daughter meets real-life princess
Jessica Simpson helped to make her daughter's royal dreams come true on Tuesday night (24Oct17) by introducing her to Princess Charlene of Monaco.
The singer-turned-fashion mogul took five-year-old Maxwell Drew to the 2017 Princess Grace Awards in Los Angeles, where the youngster came face-to-face with a real-life princess.
In red carpet photos from the event, Maxwell can be seen presenting a bouquet of flowers to former Olympic swimmer Princess Charlene, who kneels down to accept the gift, as a smiling Jessica looks on. The European royal also gives the child a warm hug as a thank you.
The star shared a snap of the special moment on Instagram on Wednesday (25Oct17), and confessed she was close to tears at the encounter.
"Maxwell's dream to meet a real life princess coming true (and mom holding back her tears of pride!)," she captioned the shot.
Jessica attended the event in a conservative black dress with white polka dots, while her little girl chose a red gown with a black collar, and finished her look with a matching red and black headband and silver shoes.
Princess Charlene opted for a more casual look, donning black leather pants with a strapless top and a black blazer draped over her shoulders.
Her husband, Prince Albert II, is the son of legendary actress Grace Kelly, who quit her life in Hollywood and became Princess Grace of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainier III in 1956.
Tuesday's awards were organized by officials at the Princess Grace Foundation, which was established in the late screen icon's honor, and is "dedicated to identifying and assisting emerging talent in theater, dance and film by awarding grants in the form of scholarships, apprenticeships and fellowships".
Princess Grace died in 1982.
