Jessica Simpson interested in Las Vegas comeback - report
Jessica Simpson is in the middle of secret talks to headline a residency in Las Vegas.
The pop star has been concentrating on her fashion empire and her family in recent years, but she's back in the studio working with producers and songwriters like Linda Perry, and sources tell In Touch magazine she wants to launch her comeback in Sin City.
"She's hell-bent on landing a Vegas residency," one insider tells
the publication. "With state-of-the art technology and backdrops
paired with her sex appeal, she thinks she can give the other
headliners a run for their money.
"After 20 years in the music business, Jess is excited to follow
her dreams and become a Vegas legend."
If the rumors are true, she will follow the likes of Celine Dion,
Cher, Shania Twain, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Mariah
Carey, who have all tasted success with residencies in the gambling
mecca.
Simpson, a mom-of-two, hasn't released a record in six years, but
it appears she's set for a big comeback thanks to her new
collaboration with Grammy nominee Perry, who posted a photo of
herself standing alongside a beaming Simpson in the studio earlier
this year (16).
Simpson revealed all about her music plans last year (15), during
an appearance on breakfast show Today, explaining she had turned
the basement of her California home into a recording studio.
Simpson and Perry reportedly met for the first time earlier this
year (16), when the former 4 Non Blondes singer hosted a party to
celebrate the music she wrote for the movie Freeheld. Simpson's
younger sister Ashlee Simpson was one of the performers.
