Jennifer Lopez confirms Las Vegas residency

Jennifer Lopez is setting up shop in Las Vegas and starring in her own residency at the Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort.

The On The Floor hitmaker has been rumored to be in talks with hotel bosses for a show in Sin City since last October (14), and Lopez has now finally confirmed the speculation.

Lopez is set to perform 20 shows between 20 January (16) and June (16) at The Axis theater, and fans can purchase tickets starting on Saturday (16May15).

She tells People.com, "It's just the idea of creating the show that I've always wanted to create... You know, touring is an animal, and to get to be in one place and really build a show exactly how I've always imagined - I feel like I've been waiting for this moment my whole life. I'm very excited about it.

"It's going to be everything I think the fans have come to know me for on stage. I'll have dance. I'll have Latin. I'll have pop. I'll have hip-hop. I'll have all of it... It will be a high-energy amazing show that anybody could go see - my fans and everyone else."

Pop star Britney Spears is currently appearing in her Britney: Piece of Me residency at Planet Hollywood, and recently announced she is extending the gig for another three months, with a scheduled end on New Year's Eve (31Dec15).
