Jana Kramer ignoring injury to compete on TV show
Country star Jana Kramer is dismissing doctor's orders to rest following an injury, and plans to continue her run on ballroom competition Dancing With The Stars.
The singer/actress wowed judges during Monday's (12Sep16) first performance of the season, but despite garnering an impressive score, she was left with an injury that has concerned medical professionals.
"I sprained my intercostal muscle," Jana reveals to People
magazine. "It's very painful, and it's hard to breath and move. My
doctor recommended that I do not dance, but I'm going to anyways."
Intercostal muscles are several groups of muscles that run between
the ribs, and help form and move the chest wall.
While the former One Tree Hill star insists on moving forward, her
professional partner Gleb Savchenko admits to E! News he's more
worried about her injury than she is.
"I'm worried because it's one of the things... you have to be
careful," he confesses. "The injury can hold you back. There's a
lot of things in the choreography we cannot do."
The two are gearing up for their next performance on Monday's
(19Sep16) live show, and they are slated to perform a tango to
Gavin DeGraw's hit I Don't Wanna Be, which served as the theme song
to One Tree Hill.
