Jamie Foxx lands MTV Generation Award
Jamie Foxx is set to be feted with a special honor at the upcoming MTV Movie Awards in California on Sunday (14Apr13) in recognition of his glittering career.
The Ray star has landed the MTV Generation Award for his work in film, music and television, and will be presented with the honor during the ceremony at the Sony Pictures Studios lot in Culver City.
MTV President Stephen Friedman says in a statement, "As a comedian,
Academy award-winning actor and Grammy award-winning artist, Jamie
Foxx is a triple threat superstar unlike any we've seen in a long
time. Jamie has captivated audiences for nearly two decades with a
dizzying array of memorable performances, and we couldn't be more
excited to celebrate him at this year's Movie Awards."
Foxx is also in the running to win the Best Male Performance trophy
for his role in slave-era Western Django Unchained.
