Country star Hunter Hayes has set a Guinness World Record for most concerts played across multiple cities in 24 hours.

The Wanted hitmaker kicked off his 24 Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger on Friday (09May14) with a performance on breakfast show Good Morning America in New York City, the first of 10 shows in 10 cities.

Hayes continued his whirlwind trek in Boston and Worcester, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; New London, New Haven and Stamford, Connecticut; South Orange and Asbury Park, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The tour was a partnership with packaged food company ConAgra Foods to help raise awareness of child hunger and beat The Flaming Lips' record of eight gigs in one day.
