Henry Cavill splits from fiancee - report

Actor Henry Cavill and his showjumper fiancee have ended their engagement, according to a U.K. report.

The British star proposed to Ellen Whitaker in Los Angeles last year (11), but they are now said to have parted ways.

The Mail on Sunday reports the pair had been spending time apart as Cavill, who is playing Superman in next year's (13) Man of Steel movie, carved out a Hollywood career for himself.

An insider tells the publication, "They just weren't getting on."

And when asked about the engagement earlier this month (Aug12), Cavill reportedly replied, "I'll talk about that another time. This summer I am taking time off and relaxing."
