Hayley Atwell keen to take Agent Carter to the big screen
Actress Hayley Atwell is hoping to revive her Agent Carter TV role on the big screen.
The Brit, who first played the sassy crime fighter in the first Captain America movie, brought the character back for a TV series, which was recently canceled after two seasons.
But she admits she's open to playing Agent Peggy Carter again.
Speaking at the MegaCon convention in Orlando, Florida, Hayley
said, "I love Peggy. I love the people that were working on this
project together. The fans are incredibly warm and welcoming. And
it would be an absolute privilege and honor to bring her back for
the fans."
Atwell reveals there were plans for a third season of her Agent
Carter TV series before the axe fell on the project and ABC
executives in America decided they no longer wanted to air the
period action drama.
"There was talk of season three going further back into her past.
The showrunners were talking about a possible kind of twist, I
suppose, into something to do with the family... They suggested
there would be more to do with my brother. That's all I can
say."
While fans wait to hear if there will be any more Peggy Carter,
Atwell has a new TV show to promote - she'll star as the daughter
of a former American president investigating cases where people may
have been wrongly convicted.
