Halsey suffered miscarriage on 2015 tour

Singer Halsey has stunned fans by revealing she suffered a miscarriage on tour.

The 21-year-old tells Rolling Stone she fell pregnant while touring with Imagine Dragons last year (15), but lost the baby.

The young star, real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, has only just started to get over the tragedy, telling the publication, "I beat myself up for it."

"I think that the reason it happened is just the lifestyle I was living," she adds. "I wasn't drinking. I wasn't doing drugs. I was overworked, in the hospital every couple of weeks because I was dehydrated, needing bags of IVs brought to my green room. I was anaemic, I was fainting. My body just broke down."

Halsey, who appeared on Justin Bieber's Purpose album, reveals the miscarriage took place hours before she was supposed to perform at a Vevo LIFT event, and she initially wanted to cancel the show but her handlers persuaded her to hit the stage and do her best.

"It's the angriest performance that I've ever done in my life," she explains. "That was the moment of my life where I thought to myself, 'I don't feel like a... human being anymore'. This thing, this music, Halsey, whatever it is that I'm doing, took precedence and priority over every decision that I made regarding this entire situation from the moment I found out until the moment it went wrong.

"I walked offstage and went into the parking lot and just started throwing up."

But the awful experience hasn't put the singer off motherhood in the future.

"I want to be a mom more than I want to be a pop star," she tells Rolling Stone. "More than I want to be anything in the world."
