Gwyneth Paltrow recommends bizarre items for website's gift guide
Gwyneth Paltrow has recommended a number of unusual big-ticket items as part of her annual Goop holiday gift guide.
The team who runs the actress' lifestyle website Goop has released its annual festive wish list, titled the "The Ridiculous, But Awesome Gift Guide".
Within the round-up of Goop’s must-have items is the exclusive
record collection of the late actor Dennis Hopper, which would set
the buyer back $150,000 , a "living art moss wall garden" which
costs around $600 , a personal yurt for camping, priced at $8,300 ,
and an infrared sauna, costing from $2,295 .
The Goop team have also recommended an underwater art exhibit, a
zombie apocalypse survival kit, a leather bicycle, hologram
glasses, a clothes steam-cleaning unit, an Alexander McQueen
umbrella priced at $510 , a $5,000 Jeff Koons vase and a $120 tube
of toothpaste.
The 44-year-old actress has been the subject of ridicule for some
of her more outrageous recommendations on the website, which she
founded in 2008. She cut back from her acting roles to focus on the
lifestyle brand and its lines.
"We took some investment last year, so as soon as we had other
people's money, I realized I really better focus on this
completely," she told U.S. news show Today in March (16).
However, it has been reported by the New York Post that she is also
looking to get into the stage production business. She is
reportedly producing musical Head Over Heels, which features the
songs of the '80s girl group The Go-Go’s, with her ex-boyfriend
Donovan Leitch. They staged a reading earlier this month (Nov16) to
help attract investors and producers with a view to open in the
summer (17).
