Glastonbury stage invader: 'I Kanye'd Kanye for Taylor Swift'
The British comedian who invaded the stage during Kanye West's Glastonbury festival set on Saturday night (27Jun15) has dedicated his actions to Taylor Swift.
Simon Brodkin, aka TV funnyman Lee Nelson, ran onstage during Kanye's Black Skinhead performance and jumped around next to the headliner before he was apprehended by a security guard.
Brodkin’s actions proved such a distraction to Kanye, the rapper
was forced to restart the track as the comic was led away from the
stage.
Brodkin later took to Twitter, posting as Lee Nelson, and stated,
"I Kanye’d Kanye. That was for you @taylorswift13.” The rap star
infamously invaded the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009,
when he interrupted Taylor Swift's Best Female Video acceptance
speech to protest her win over his pal Beyonce.
Ironically, Swift was also performing in Britain on Saturday night
- she headlined a British Summertime concert in Hyde Park,
London.
Brodkin has a history of publicity stunt arrests - he previously
took the field with Manchester City players and attempted to warm
up with them before a soccer match against Everton in Liverpool and
he was also detained last year (14) when he was caught attempting
to board a flight to the World Cup in Brazil with the England
football squad.
