Gilmore Girls castmembers including Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel paid tribute to their late co-star Edward Herrmann during the show's 15th anniversary reunion event on Saturday (06Jun15).

The cast of the cult series came together in Austin, Texas for the ATX Television Festival, marking the first time they have reunited since the show ended its seven-season run in 2007.

Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, along with Graham, Bledel, and Herrmann's onscreen wife Kelly Bishop, kicked off the panel, and the four women discussed Herrmann's shock death on 31 December (14) following a battle with brain cancer.

Sherman-Palladino said of the Gilmore family patriarch, "F**k you for dying! It's really c**ppy that he's gone. We miss him so much... We were so surprised. Ed was the first one who said he was going to be at this panel... I'm so grateful I got to hear him say my words."

As Graham wiped away her tears, Sherman-Palladino introduced a montage of Herrmann's best moments on the series.

The rest of the cast later joined the ladies on stage, and one seat was left empty in memory of Herrmann.

Among the other cast members in attendance were Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Scott Patterson, Danny Strong and Jared Padalecki, who made his first public appearance since revealing he needed to take time off work after suffering from exhaustion.

The Supernatural star canceled appearances at conventions in Italy and Australia last month (May15) to deal with his health crisis.
