Fetty Wap sued over Trap Queen beat
Written by . Published: September 28 2016
Fetty Wap has been sued by a Danish songwriter, who insists the rapper illegally sampled his beat for chart smash Trap Queen.
In court papers, Lazar Lakic claims Fetty and his producer Tony Fadd took a beat he had purchased exclusively for his song Hello and used it without permission on the 2015 hit that helped launch the rapper's career.
Lakic reveals he bought the beat from Fadd, who contacted him in
January, 2015 and attempted to buy back the rights to Hello, but
Lakic declined.
Meanwhile, Fetty's attorney, Navarro Gray, tells TMZ his client
legally bought the beat from Fadd - and he has the contract to
prove it.
Lakic is suing for profits from Trap Queen.
