Fetty Wap injures leg in motorcycle accident
Rapper Fetty Wap has been injured in a road accident.
The 25-year-old rapper was reportedly riding his motorcycle through a residential area in Paterson, New Jersey, on Saturday (26Sep15) when he was hit by a car.
According to TMZ.com, Fetty, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, had
attempted to overtake a vehicle but didn't see another one coming
in the opposite direction.
Following the accident, a series of shocking pictures of the rapper
lying on the floor and covered in blood emerged online.
Fans were quick to voice their support for the musician, with many
expressing their concern at Fetty's wellbeing.
Onlookers at the scene say Fetty was "responsive" and sitting up
when police and paramedics arrived, but was then taken to hospital
on a stretcher and wearing an oxygen mask.
"We're aware of the incident and our detectives are at the hospital
now where the man was taken," police told HollywoodLife.com. "At
this time, we haven't identified him. We're currently investigating
this."
Following the crash, Fetty's DJ pal Louie Styles took to the
Internet to reassure fans about his condition.
Alongside a picture of Fetty sitting up in a hospital bed, Louie
wrote, "Wap is Gucci everybody thank you for your prayers #Amen
(sic)."
The snap showed Fetty with a brace on his left leg, which suffered
the brunt of the injuries in the accident.
The crash comes just days after Fetty released his self-titled
debut album.
After celebrating the release at a star-studded bash, Fetty
admitted he wasn't that worried about the success of the
record.
"I don't give a goddamn if the album don't make it nowhere," Fetty
told Billboard. "I don't care if I don't sell 100 copies if all my
family bought it. None of that extra s**t matter to me, bro, as
long as I get a chance to live a dream a lot of people didn't."
