Fergie planned pregnancy for Black Eyed Peas' hiatus
FERGIE timed her pregnancy to coincide with the Black Eyed Peas' hiatus because she was determined not to be "one of those girls touring with a bun in the oven".
The group went on a break following the completion of a world tour in late 2011, and the singer admits she didn't want to have a baby with her husband Josh Duhamel until the shows finished.
She tells WWD.com, "I knew I had to get off tour to be pregnant - I
wasn't going to be one of those girls touring with a bun in the
oven... I knew I had to get home to make this happen. I have my
hands and plate full now."
Fergie insists she is keeping herself busy during her pregnancy by
taking on a variety of projects which she can work on from home,
including deals with footwear company Brown Shoe Co., smartphone
accessories brand Case Mate and drinks firm Voli Vodka.
She explains, "Being pregnant, it's great to do a lot of work from
home. I do it being comfortable and not worrying about hair and
make-up. As far as what I'm going to do when the child comes? I
have no idea what I'm going to tell you."
The singer also admits a second child will complete her family with
Duhamel, even though the Transformers star initially wanted a large
brood of five kids. She adds, "It's important that you want the
same thing, if you're going to go on this path together."
Fergie and Duhamel announced their happy news last month (Feb13).
The baby is due later this year (13).
