Female lead role in Han Solo spin-off film narrowed down to three actresses
Tessa Thompson, Naomi Scott, and Zoe Kravitz are reportedly in the running to take on the female lead role in the new Star Wars spin-off film.
In July (16), it was confirmed Hail Caesar! star Alden Ehrenreich had landed the coveted role of a young Han Solo in Disney's upcoming movie.
According to Variety.com, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are
still seeking an actress to fill the lead role opposite Ehrenreich
and they met with Thompson, Scott and Kravitz this week
(beg03Oct16) in London to test all three.
This is reportedly the second round of testing for the part,
following meetings this past summer (16).
The filmmakers are also testing for the role of Lando Calrissian,
who was played by Billy Dee Williams in The Empire Strikes Back and
Return of the Jedi, and are reportedly eying actor and rapper
Donald Glover for the part. However, a decision has yet to be
made.
Production is slated to begin next year (17) and the film is
scheduled to hit theaters in 2018.
