Eva Longoria: 'Victoria Beckham made my wedding dress with love'
Eva Longoria chose Victoria Beckham to design her wedding dress because she knew she would make it with love.
The actress married television executive Jose "Pepe" Baston in a lakeside ceremony in Mexico earlier this month (May16), attended by friends and family including stars Melanie Griffith and Ricky Martin, Victoria and her husband David Beckham. Eva's Desperate Housewives co-star Vanessa Williams also made a surprise appearance to serenade the couple with her hit song Save the Best For Last.
The couple enjoyed a weekend-long celebration which started with a
civil ceremony at the home of Sharon and Emilio Azcárraga, the
owner of Mexican multimedia company Televisa, of which Pepe is
president, before a second ceremony in the gardens of Eva and
Pepe's home the day after.
In an interview with Britain's Hello!, Eva revealed: "I asked
Victoria to do my dress because I wanted it to be special and made
with love – and I knew that Victoria would make it with love."
The celebrated designer who was working double-duty, she was also a
witness for the Telenovela creator, created an ivory silk crepe
gown for the ceremony. Victoria
"Victoria was one of my witnesses, too – she signed the paper that
says I was here – so it was a Victoria Beckham weekend," Eva
smiled. "She was the best, sweetest person to have there on this
day. Not only did she do my wedding dress but she's one of my best
friends so for her to be there was so special."
Pepe's two daughters and son formed the wedding party, with his
daughters accompanying Eva down the aisle and all of the children
bearing the rings.
This is the third marriage for Eva, who was previously wed to actor
Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004 and basketball star Tony Parker
from 2007 to 2011.
Wedding guests danced to an '80s band, and David Beckham became
firm friends with Saved by the Bell star Mario Lopez who dubbed
him, "My drinkin buddy all weekend... @davidbeckham #EvaAndPepe" in
a post on Instagram.
