Emmy Rossum to make directorial debut with Shameless

Emmy Rossum is set to make her directorial debut by helming an episode of her hit drama Shameless.

The actress will be stepping behind the camera for the first time for the fourth episode of the TV series' upcoming seventh season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rossum follows in the footsteps of her onscreen father, William H. Macy, who previously directed an episode which aired last year (15).

She also seemed to have caught the acting bug from her fiance Sam Esmail, the creator, writer and director of critically-acclaimed drama Mr. Robot.

The couple previously worked together on 2014 film Comet, which marked Esmail's directorial debut in which Rossum starred.
