Emmy Rossum's flower girls upstaged her at wedding

Emmy Rossum was upstaged by her flower girls at the start of her wedding ceremony.

The Shameless actress wed Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail at the Central Synagogue in New York in May (17), with the likes of Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Robert Downey, Jr., William H. Macy, and Hilary Swank all in attendance.

While Emmy looked stunning in an elegant white gown from Carolina Herrera, she has now revealed that her walk down the aisle was halted when one of her two young flower girls stopped and threw a tantrum.

"It was during their nap time, so one of the girls was quite cranky and not feeling it at all, and the other girl was quite a diva - she was really having her moment," said Emmy during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday night (14Nov17). "And when the nappy, cranky girl noticed that the diva girl was getting quite a lot of attention, she ran up the aisle and began throwing her petals very aggressively at the other girl."

Emmy explained that the girls began to clash and it looked like a "women's wrestling fight". Thankfully, the duo calmed down in time for the nuptials and the minister made light of the situation with some jokes.

"Then when I got up there the rabbi was like, 'Wow, you're lucky you're famous because these girls really just stole your spotlight,'" the 31-year-old shared. "Then the rabbi made some joke like, 'It just goes to show there's always someone younger and cuter coming down the aisle.'"

Meanwhile, Emmy also admitted that she had been nervous in the days before her wedding. But apart from the flower girl drama, everything else went off without a hitch.

"I was having lots of nightmares leading up to it, as brides do. You know, you show up and your dress doesn't fit or you walk down the aisle naked. None of that happened!" she smiled.
