Emma Bunton dismisses Spice Girls reunion rumor
Emma Bunton has shrugged off a report suggesting the Spice Girls are reforming for a 20th anniversary tour, insisting "nothing's happening" with the band.
According to a report in Britain's The Sun newspaper, Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown are set to reunite for a tour in 2016 to celebrate 20 years since their debut single Wannabe, but their bandmate Victoria Beckham will not be involved as she is too busy with her work as a fashion designer.
However, Bunton apparently dismissed the rumor during her breakfast
radio show for Britain's Heart FM on Friday (07Aug15), confessing
there have been talks about a celebration but nothing is
official.
She says, "If anything happens and it's concrete, and we decide on
something, I will let you know, but nothing's happening at the
moment."
Her bandmate Chisholm, known as Sporty Spice during their heyday,
seemed confused by the report, writing on Twitter.com, "Woke up
this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my
backflips???!!!" and Bunton, nicknamed Baby Spice, reposted the
message and added, "Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?"
Beckham also posted an old picture of a Spice Girls photo album and
added in the caption, "Love my Spice Girls."
Chisholm recently denied a similar reunion report, telling
Britain's The Sun newspaper last month (Jul15) that she was too
busy working on her seventh solo record.
