Ellen DeGeneres gives money to former show writer battling cancer
Ellen Degeneres has shown her generosity by sending a $10,000 cheque to a former writer on her talk show who is battling cancer.
The employee was let go from The Ellen DeGeneres Show following the Hollywood writers strike, which began in November, 2007 and ran for 100 days, causing production on many TV programs and films to shut down over a pay dispute.
However, the funnywoman recently decided to make amends with the
axed worker when she learned he had been diagnosed with the
potentially deadly disease and she mailed him a cheque to
contribute towards his medical costs, according to the National
Enquirer.
A source tells the tabloid, "This guy had been with her show since
it started, but they had a falling out during the Hollywood
writers' strike."
