Elizabeth Banks visits troops in Afghanistan

Actress Elizabeth Banks dressed as Santa to visit troops in Afghanistan this week (beg07Dec15).

The Hunger Games star jetted to the war-torn country to meet soldiers stationed there over the holidays, and she donned a special red and white costume for her visit to Bagram Air Field on Tuesday (08Dec15).

Elizabeth met the troops, and posed for pictures with them, and she shared one of the snaps on her Twitter.com page.

The picture shows her wearing a Santa hat and taking a 'selfie' with a group of soldiers.

During her trip, Elizabeth also visited the crew of U.S. Navy ship the USS Sentry, and she tweeted a picture which shows one of the men holding her in the air in a "bench press".

She thanked staff at United Service Organizations, which provides entertainment for troops, for hosting her visit, writing on Instagram.com, "Thank you #uso for the introduction to so many amazing service members. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers this holiday season."
