Early Rita Ora video footage used to inspire teens
Written by . Published: August 03 2012
Footage of an 11-year-old Rita Ora singing into a youth counsellor's camera phone has been added to a motivational programme for talented teenagers.
The pretty Brit sang an a cappella version of Roberta Flack's Killing Me Softly while showing off her vocal skills to a youth centre volunteer, who insisted he could get the footage to a record company executive.
She tells Complex magazine, "He told me he knew somebody who knew
somebody in the industry or whatever. I said, 'Cool, play them this
video'."
Nothing came of the camera phone showcase, but the counsellor now
uses the footage to inspire other kids with a dream after Ora
signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label and scored chart hits with
R.I.P. and How We Do (Party).
