Drive and Harry Potter lead Empire nominations
Ryan Gosling's thriller Drive and the final Harry Potter installment lead the nominations for the 2012 Empire Awards.
Drive has landed five nods, with Gosling and his co-star Carey Mulligan both vying for Best Actor/Actress awards, while Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 also scored five nominations.
Both movies will compete for the Best Film prize, along with the
American version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Rise Of The
Planet Of The Apes and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Daniel Radcliffe will compete with Gosling for the Best Actor
Prize, along with Daniel Craig (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo),
Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and Andy Serkis (Rise Of
The Planet Of The Apes), while Mulligan faces competition from
Olivia Colman (Tyrannosaur), Rooney Mara (The Girl With The Dragon
Tattoo), Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn) and Meryl Streep,
who recently won an Oscar for her performance in The Iron Lady.
The awards are voted for by the magazine's readers and will be
handed out at a ceremony in London on 25 March (12).
