Drew Barrymore eying talk show gig - report
Drew Barrymore is reportedly setting her sights on hosting her own talk show.
The Charlie's Angels star has already added director and producer to her resume, and now sources tell Variety Barrymore is looking to add host by striking a talk show development deal with executives at Warner Bros.
Although there is yet to be a deal in place, Barrymore already has
ties to Warner Bros. through her upcoming reality TV series First
Dates. She will be the narrator of the program, which follows
couples on first dates over the course of one night in a
restaurant. At the end of each episode, the 'daters' will reveal if
they are interested in seeing their partners again.
The series, produced by her pal, comedienne and talk show host
Ellen DeGeneres, is based on a U.K. show of the same name.
While the potential chat show talks continue, Barrymore is also
preparing for another TV role in Netflix's upcoming comedy Santa
Clarita Diet, opposite Timothy Olyphant.
The two will play married real estate agents on the series, penned
by Better Off Ted writer Victor Fresco. Barrymore is also an
executive producer of the show, which is scheduled to debut in
2017.
While her professional life is booming, Barrymore's personal life
has gone through a rough patch leading to her divorce from Will
Kopelman, her husband for nearly four years.
Drew and Will, who share daughters Olive, three, and 23-month-old
Frankie, announced their split in April (16).
