Rapper Drake is on course to shatter more chart records this week with his new project More Life.

Early estimates suggest the album will become the biggest Billboard Hot 100 debut since Drake's last release, Views, in May (16), with over 500,000 equivalent album units.

The album was released on Saturday (18Mar17).

More Life is also expected to set the record for the most streams generated by an album’s songs in a single week. The 22-track set could score over 275,000 streaming equivalent album units, according to Billboard.

The current record is held by Drake’s Views, which launched with 163,000 streaming equivalent units.

If More Life debuts at the top of the chart, it will be Drake's seventh consecutive album to enter the Billboard 200 at number one.

The rapper has already broken Apple Music and Spotify streaming records as fans flock to hear the Canadian star's latest music.

More Life’s songs collected 89.9 million streams globally in the 24 hours following the project's release on Apple Music, handing Drake a new single-day record for streams of songs from an album.

Meanwhile, Spotify bosses have confirmed More Life’s first full day of release chalked up the best first-day streams for an album on the service. Drake also set a new record for the most streams for an artist in a single day on Spotify - 76.4 million. That's almost eight million more than Ed Sheeran's streams record set on 3 March (17).
