Drake releases new track in response to Meek Mill claims
Rapper Drake released a new track on his radio show on Saturday (25Jul15) in response to allegations he uses a ghostwriter.
Fellow rapper Meek Mill accused the Canadian hitmaker of hiring songwriters to help with his tracks, writing in a series of messages on Twitter.com, "Stop comparing Drake to me... He don't write his own raps!"
He went on to allege the star, who featured on Mill's R.I.C.O.
track on his latest album Dreams Worth More Than Money, failed to
promote the project on social media after it was reportedly
discovered he had recruited a songwriter to come up with his
lines.
Drake has remained mainly silent over the allegation, but he
premiered new song Charged Up on his Beats 1 OVO Sound radio show
in response to the row, reports Billboard.com.
The track includes the lyrics: "Done doing favors (sic) for people
'cause it ain't like I need the money I make off a feature... Cops
are killing people with their arms up... And your main focus is
tryin' to harm us? And you think you 'bout to starve us? Nah, I'm
charged up."
Mill tweeted after the track debut, "I can tell he wrote that 1
tho..."
