British electronic music stars Disclosure have scrapped a show in Pennsylvania next week (begs28Oct13) because they have been nominated for a top UK music award.

The dance duo was slated to perform a sold-out show at the Union Transfer in Philadelphia on Tuesday (29Oct13), but the date is the night before they will learn if they have won the 2013 Barclaycard Mercury Prize.

The pair is nominated for the revered honor alongside David Bowie, Jake Bugg, Arctic Monkeys and several others at the event in London the following evening (30Oct13).

They have decided to postpone the show so they can attend the ceremony.

Announcing the news on Facebook.com, they write, "It's with a heavy heart that we need to re-schedule our show in Philadelphia next Tuesday. We have been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, which is on the 30th in London, so physically can't make them both work."

The gig has been rescheduled for next June (14).

Music producer James Blake has already announced he has postponed five tour dates next week to attend the ceremony.
