Dierks Bentley's young son recovering after breaking his arm

Country star Dierks Bentley experienced a family drama just before his set at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado earlier this month (Jun17), when his son fell and fractured his arm.


Three-year-old Knox, the youngest of the singer's three children, fell from a loft at the home the family was renting.

Dierks shared the news on Thursday (22Jun17), revealing his kid broke his arm in two places.

"We were outside Telluride at the bluegrass festival and we were renting a house there with a bunch of people," the singer said.

"There’s a loft above the bunkbeds, about 12-13 feet; he thought his grandfather was going to catch him, but there was an obvious miscommunication there."

Dierks joked the accident ruined a perfect day because he was rehearsing with The Del McCoury Band when he learned his son had been injured: "(I was thinking), 'This is the best day of my life. I'm singing songs with these heroes of mine in Telluride. This is awesome'."

And then it all went downhill: "I lost a few years of my life," the worried dad admitted. "It was brutal.

"We’re really lucky; of all the things that could’ve happened, (between) a head injury and neck (injury)..."
