Denise Richards regrets boob job
Denise Richards regrets undergoing breast enhancement surgery as a teenager, and worries she sends her young daughters a "confusing message" about body image by fussing over her looks.
The former Bond girl was just 19 when she went under the knife to enhance her bust, and now she fears her decision to have the operation undermines the advice she gives her little girls about positive self-esteem.
In her blog on iVillage.com, Denise Richards writes, "I often times
feel like a hypocrite with my daughters when trying to teach them
to have a healthy view on beauty and body image. I'm in a business
where looks and weight do matter...
"My girls see me at work or getting ready for photo shoots and I'm
sure at times it can be a confusing message to them when I'm being
primped, dressed and fussed over. I always explain it's Mommy's
job. They see me get spray-tanned and my nails done too. I always
need fresh nails every week...
"At 19 when I first got my breasts done, I wish that I was
confident enough with my body to not have had surgery. That is
something that I really want to encourage in my daughters, to
embrace their healthy body and have confidence."
The star has two daughters, Sam, seven, and Lola, six, with
ex-husband Charlie Sheen, and she recently adopted a baby girl
called Eloise.
