David and Victoria Beckham gush about baby Brooklyn

Victoria and David Beckham have embarrassed their "baby Brooklyn" by sharing heartfelt messages online to celebrate his 17th birthday.

The doting parents took to their Instagram pages on Friday morning (04Mar16) to post throwback pictures of their eldest son to mark his special day.

"17 years ago today this little man came into this world and changed our lives in so many ways," gushed retired soccer ace David, who uploaded an old photo of the father-and-son duo. "We were given the most precious gift that makes us smile and proud every time he walks through the door... Not so little anymore but look at the smile. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUST".

Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria also lavished some love on the teen on social media.

"Happy Birthday beautiful boy," the 41-year-old wrote beside another old picture of her son. "We are so proud and love you so much. Can't believe baby Brooklyn is 17 today."

The birthday boy also took to Instagram to thank fans for their sweet posts, writing, "Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes". He then went on to reveal what he was most excited for after hitting the legal driving age in the U.K.

"Looking forward to my first driving lesson," he exclaimed.

David and Victoria may be Hollywood royalty, but even they aren't immune to being typical embarrassing parents to their four kids.

"When David takes Brooklyn to school, Brooklyn makes him drop him down at the end of the street, because he thinks it's embarrassing," Victoria laughed to People in November (15). "I'm like, 'If you're embarrassed by your dad and he's David Beckham, what chance does any other father at the school have?'"

The couple, which wed in 1999, also has sons Romeo, 13, and Cruz, 11, and four-year-old daughter Harper.
