Courtney Love hints at Hole reunion

Courtney Love appears to be deadly serious about her plans to mend fractured friendships in 2014 - a new photo has sparked talk of an unlikely Hole reunion.

The outspoken rocker recently announced that her New Year's resolution is to forgive and forget, and a blurry new snapshot of her and former bandmate Eric Erlandson suggests Love means business.

Love and Erlandson officially disbanded the most famous Hole line-up in 2002 and, in recent years, they quarrelled over guitars once owned by Love's late husband Kurt Cobain.

But now it seems their friendship is back on and in a new caption accompanying the shot of the two former bandmates embracing, Love writes, "And this just happened. 2014 going to be a very interesting year".

The tweet also includes the Twitter handle for Melissa Auf der Maur, who quit Hole and joined the Smashing Pumpkins in 1999.

The band's most famous line-up also includes drummer Patty Schemel.

The four-piece last worked together in 1998.
