Coldplay and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt among Webby Awards
Coldplay and Tina Fey's new Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt have landed top honors at the 2015 Webby Awards.
The British band has picked up two of the top Internet prizes, including Best Music and Best Use of Interactive Video in the Online Film & Video category, and People's Voice Award for Animation in the Online Film & Video category for their Ink music video.
Fey's acclaimed Netflix comedy has earned two Webbys for its stars
Ellie Kemper and Tituss Burgess, who have been named Best Actress
and Best Actor, respectively, for their break-out roles in the
Internet streaming series.
Other winners include Chelsea Peretti (Outstanding Comedic
Performance for Netflix comedy special Chelsea Peretti: One of the
Greats) and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver (Best How-to & DIY in
Online Film & Video for Food Tube), while Will Ferrell's Funny or
Die website has won its third Webby for Best Humor Website.
Meanwhile, late night talk show hosts have also come out on top -
The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon won the People's Voice for Best
Entertainment App and a Webby for Best Television Website, and
Jimmy Kimmel has earned a Webby in the Comedy Online Film & Video
category for his Mean Tweets segment, as well as a Webby and
People's Voice Award for his Halloween Candy Prank.
The winners of the 19th annual Webby Awards, organized by the
International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, will receive
their trophies during a ceremony hosted by comedian Hannibal Buress
in New York on 18 May (15).
