Ciara skips over Future's name during Billboard nominations
R&B star Ciara refused to say her ex-fiance Future's name while announcing the 2016 Billboard Music Awards nominations on Monday (11Apr16).
The Goodies star was previously engaged to the rapper, with whom she shares a young son, but they parted ways in 2014, consequently leading to an acrimonious split.
And when Ciara and rapper Ludacris appeared on live TV to announce
the nominees for this year's (16) prizegiving, her silence proved
there is still tension brewing between her and her ex.
The singer was in charge of revealing the shortlist for the Top Rap
Artist category, and as the stars' photos flashed across the
screen, she began by naming Drake and Fetty Wap, but took a long
pause before Ludacris took over to say Future's name.
She picked her duties back up by listing Wiz Khalifa and Silento as
the other nominees, and moved on to the next category.
While Ciara was not shown on screen during her unplanned silence,
footage of her skipping over Future's name has since gone viral.
Moreover, she might have a run-in with the hip-hop star when she
and Ludacris return to co-host the prizegiving in May (16).
However, Ciara still has plenty to be happy about - last month
(Mar16), her football player boyfriend Russell Wilson proposed to
her after a year of dating.
The marriage will be Ciara's first, while Russell was previously
married to Ashton Meem from 2012 to 2014
