Ciara's fiance Russell Wilson jokes about eloping

Ciara's American football star fiancee Russell Wilson tricked fans on Saturday (09Apr16) as he joked about eloping with the R&B beauty.

The Seattle Seahawks quarterback took to Instagram.com to share a brief video of the couple all dressed up, in a post he captioned, "Wedding Time!"

Sitting in the back of a car, Russell was shown donning a white tuxedo as his love was featured wearing a long navy gown.

"Wedding time, we're getting eloped (sic)!" he exclaimed, as Ciara beamed by his side.

However, he quickly came clean, admitting, "Just kidding. We're at my cousin's wedding..."

The couple became engaged in March (16) after a whirlwind romance which began in early 2015.

The stars, who famously vowed not to have sex until marriage, announced their plans to head down the aisle in a video post on Instagram.

In the clip, Ciara was pictured wearing a large diamond on her ring finger, as Russell happily confirmed they are engaged.

"She said yes! Yeah!" the 27-year-old cheered. "Making this thing happen. My baby."

"Yay! I'm so excited," added Ciara. "God is so good."

Russell shared the sweet footage online with the caption, "She said Yes!!! Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling... #TrueLove @Ciara".

Ciara also celebrated the news on social media, writing, "God Is Good! Grateful For You @DangRussWilson. You Are Heaven Sent. I'm Looking Forward To Spending Forever With You".

The marriage will be Ciara's first, although the 30-year-old was previously engaged to rapper Future, the father of her young son Future Zahir. They split in 2014.

Russell, meanwhile, was married to Ashton Meem from 2012 to 2014.
