Ciara goes public with new romance

R&B singer Ciara confirmed her romance with football star Russell Wilson by attending a White House state dinner with him on Tuesday night (28Apr15).

The Goodies hitmaker sparked speculation of a love connection with the Seattle Seahawks quarterback earlier this month (Apr15) when they were photographed in the stands at a Seattle Mariners baseball game.

Rumours suggested Wilson was taking Ciara as his date to the star-studded White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday (25Apr15), but he escorted his grandmother to the event instead.

However, on Tuesday, Wilson was back in Washington, D.C. for for President Barack Obama's Japanese state dinner, and he photographed holding hands with Ciara.

When asked where his grandmother was, Wilson replied, "She's back in Virginia".

Other guests at the special dinner, which was held to honour visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, included Star Trek actor George Takei and Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes.

Ciara's new romance comes four months after she ended her engagement to rapper Future, the father of her 11-month-old son Future Zahir Wilburn.
