Chris Hemsworth wants Kristen Stewart to return as Snow White
The Huntsman: Winter's War star Chris Hemsworth wants Kristen Stewart to return for a third film in the Snow White And The Huntsman franchise.
The actress played Snow White opposite Chris as Eric the Huntsman in the first film, but is absent from the latest installment, which is primarily focused on his character.
Despite getting a new leading lady in Jessica Chastain in Winter's
War, the Australian actor says he enjoyed working with Kristen so
much he wants her to return to play the fairytale character.
"She's (Kristen) fantastic, it was a great film," he tells WENN.
"She helped set up what we're doing now so I'd love to work with
her again and if we have the opportunity to pick up that story
again I think there's a lot of room for creative versions of what
we've already done."
Snow White and the Huntsman's success at the box-office in 2012,
quickly sparked talk of a sequel.
However the film was hit by controversy several months after its
release when pictures emerged of Kristen, then dating her Twilight
co-star Robert Pattinson, kissing married director Rupert Sanders.
It was announced in 2014 that neither would return for the
follow-up.
Chris hopes that even without Kristen starring, the new movie will
be a success so he can return to explore the mythology of the Snow
White story further.
"When we did the first film, we were talking about the potential of
this film, we were talking about the Huntsman's film, we were
talking about a Snow White sequel and if there's an audience for
either or both then fantastic," he says. "That was the whole idea
to do something different and then whether we segue more directly
into that then well who knows."
The Huntsmen: Winter's War, also stars Mad Max actress Charlize
Theron, Emily Blunt and Sam Claflin, is released on 22 April
(16).
